Translate Entire Site is the recommended workflow for large websites. It is designed so an administrator does not need to open the Visual Editor for every page or post.

What happens

Rendered-site discovery

Version 0.19.0 adds a background crawler that visits published content on the same WordPress site and inspects the final server-rendered HTML.

This helps capture text generated by:

• themes
• page-builder add-ons
• PHP shortcodes
• post grids
• plugin templates
• custom cards
• forms rendered server-side

The crawl runs in small resumable batches instead of attempting the whole website in one PHP request.

Progress

Keep an Instant Languages admin screen open during testing. The browser-assisted worker can continue both translation queue work and rendered discovery faster than waiting for WP-Cron alone.

Safety

The crawler performs same-site and response-identity checks before storing discovered text. This helps avoid accidentally treating a login page, maintenance page, or unrelated response as the content of every page.

When Visual Editor is still needed

Use Visual Editor after the automated workflow for:

• linguistic QA
• unusual JavaScript/AJAX-only widgets
• text loaded only after user interaction
• wording you want to manually refine

Visual Editor should be an exception/review tool, not a mandatory page-by-page translation step.

Commercial license requirement

In v0.20.0, starting/processing Translate Entire Site and its automatic rendered-site discovery is a premium licensed operation. The entitlement check does not remove existing translations if the subscription later expires.
