Commercial Licensing

How Stardetha commercial licensing works without breaking stored translations.

Instant Language Switcher v0.20.0 introduces the Stardetha commercial licensing layer. The plugin remains WordPress software distributed under GPL-2.0-or-later, while a Stardetha commercial license controls premium generation entitlements, authorized site activations, software updates and commercial support.

What the commercial license controls

An active license, or an eligible temporary connectivity grace period, is required for premium authoring/automation features including:

• DeepL and Google automatic generation
• Translate Entire Site
• background translation queue processing and retries
• rendered-site discovery crawler
• Visual Editor automatic missing-text capture/translation
• licensed WordPress update packages
• commercial support and eligible future Stardetha hosted services

The following continue to work with stored content after expiry:

• existing translations
• published translated URLs
• frontend instant language switching
• local rendering of already stored translations
• manual access to existing translation data

Store endpoint

The commercial client uses https://stardetha.com/ as the default licensing store. Developers can override it using the ist_license_store_url filter.

Offline/connectivity grace

A temporary licensing-server outage does not immediately disable premium operations. v0.20.0 includes a 14-day cached-entitlement grace period after a successful license validation.
